Nigerian Influencer Stanley Agu To Make Bollywood Debut In Anurag Kashyap's Bandar

Nigerian influencer Agu Stanley Chiedozie, popularly known to his online followers as Istanboss, is set to make his mainstream Bollywood acting debut in director Anurag Kashyap's upcoming crime thriller Bandar. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on June 5, marking a significant transition for the former international student into the Indian film industry.

Agu first arrived in India from Lagos, Nigeria, seven years ago to pursue his studies. During his time as a student, he developed a deep appreciation for Indian cinema, a passion that was sparked after he watched Kashyap's acclaimed crime film Gangs of Wasseypur. This initial exposure to Bollywood inspired him to engage more deeply with the local culture.

Over the subsequent years, Agu built a massive digital presence, establishing an Instagram empire that currently boasts over one million followers. He gained widespread popularity among Indian audiences through content that highlighted his fluency in Hindi, his sense of humor, and his adaptation to Indian cultural nuances.

His online success eventually paved the way for his casting in Bandar. In a recent interview discussing his role in the film, Agu spoke about the experience of working directly under the guidance of Anurag Kashyap, the very filmmaker whose work first inspired his love for Indian cinema.

Agu also opened up about his experience sharing the screen and interacting with veteran Bollywood actor Bobby Deol. According to Agu, Deol offered him valuable guidance on set, teaching him key lessons about the craft of acting.

In addition to discussing the professional advice he received, the Nigerian influencer shared his candid thoughts on Deol's screen presence, noting that the actor carries a distinct "goon vibe."

For Agu, the upcoming theatrical release of Bandar represents a full-circle moment, tracing his journey from a student arriving from Lagos to a mainstream Bollywood actor.
