Nitesh Rane Questions Aamir Khan's Third Marriage to Gauri Spratt

Maharashtra minister and BJP MLA Nitesh Rane has sparked a public controversy after questioning Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s third marriage to wellness and beauty professional Gauri Spratt. The wedding took place on July 5 during an intimate ceremony at Khan's residence in Pali Hill, Bandra, Mumbai.

Speaking to the Press Trust of India (PTI) in Shirdi, located in the Ahilyanagar district, Rane raised questions about the union, asking whether it should be viewed as an example of 'love jihad.' The minister urged members of the Hindu community to think carefully before supporting such celebrities and watching their movies.

Rane stated that when celebrities make such decisions in their personal lives, Hindu society should think about it. He questioned if Aamir Khan was becoming a 'brand ambassador of love jihad' and argued that Hindu youths who watch his films should have more considerate views before making such actors big.

According to Rane, discussions on whether Khan's third marriage should be viewed through the lens of 'love jihad' are gradually gaining momentum. He added that those who regard such personalities as celebrities should reassess their views and ponder over whether to watch their films.

The wedding on July 5 marks the third marriage for the Bollywood superstar. Khan was previously married to Reena Dutta from 1986 to 2002. He was later married to filmmaker Kiran Rao from 2005 to 2021.

The comments have sparked public controversy and debate regarding 'love jihad' in celebrity marriages, accompanied by calls for a selective boycott of Khan's films by the Hindu community.

At the time of reporting, the Bollywood actor had not issued any public reaction to the comments made by the Maharashtra minister.
