A woman died and another was seriously injured after an uncontrolled car allegedly driven by a minor ran over them in the Central Park area of Nalasopara East on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 pm under the jurisdiction of the Tulinj Police Station while the victims were walking home from work. The deceased has been identified as Shreya Shrikant Misal, a resident of Central Park in Nalasopara East, who was walking alongside her friend Pragati More.

According to preliminary information, a car bearing registration number MH 48 CT 6433 lost control and hit both women on the road. The minor boy behind the wheel reportedly fled the scene with the vehicle immediately following the collision.

Officers from the Tulinj Police Station visited the accident site, conducted a spot panchnama, and sent Misal's body for a post-mortem examination. Police have since registered a First Information Report (FIR) and taken three individuals into custody, including the minor driver, the car owner, and one other person.
