Oshiwara Police Book Director Pushpendra Singh for Alleged Assault on Actor Satendra Soni

The Oshiwara Police Station on Friday registered a First Information Report against director and producer Pushpendra Ramlakhan Singh and his wife Pragati Chauhan following allegations of assault made by actor Satendra Soni.
According to the Mumbai Police, the case has been registered under Sections 115(2), 127(3), 351(2), 352, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police have launched an investigation into the allegations.
The police action follows claims made by Soni, known for his role in the film Laapataa Ladies, regarding his work on the upcoming movie Ped Palki, which is directed and produced by Singh. Soni had travelled to Madhya Pradesh to shoot for the project.
In a video shared on social media, the actor broke down while detailing issues over his remuneration and alleged mistreatment. Soni claimed that he received only Rs 50,000 as an advance payment before the shoot commenced, with the remaining balance promised during the filming schedule.
According to Soni, after completing the majority of his shooting schedule, he approached the filmmakers to request his pending payments. He alleged that the makers abruptly wrapped up his shoot following the discussion and instructed him to vacate his hotel room within 10 minutes.
The actor further alleged that the director and his wife assaulted him and forcibly pushed him into a car. Soni stated that the situation escalated to the point where he felt as though he was being kidnapped.
The video quickly circulated across social media platforms, drawing public attention, with many users offering support to the actor and criticising the filmmakers' conduct.
Oshiwara police officials confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently underway, and further details regarding the case are awaited.
