Over 300 Units of Blood Collected at Mega Donation Camp in Kalyan's Nandivali

A mega blood donation camp organised by the Kalyan unit of Shivsahyadri Pratishthan Maharashtra at Holy Cross School in Nandivali collected more than 300 units of blood to support patients requiring emergency and critical medical care.

The drive saw significant turnout from local residents, with organisers highlighting strong participation from young people and women who stepped forward to donate blood voluntarily.

The camp was inaugurated by Shiv Sena Kalyan East City Chief Nilesh Shinde. Several social workers and representatives from various community groups were present at the event, including social activists Subhash Dhone, Dnyaneshwar Tare, Chetan Mhatre, Sampat Biramane, and Vandana More, as well as Stri Mukti Sanstha President Varsha Kalke and representatives of a social organisation based in Satara.

According to the organisers, the primary objective of the initiative was to encourage voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about maintaining sufficient blood supplies for surgeries, accident victims, and patients with serious conditions requiring regular transfusions.

Organisers specifically noted that the active involvement of women was one of the central highlights of the drive, demonstrating increasing engagement in public healthcare and humanitarian drives across the locality.

A medical team from the blood bank, led by Ravi Nemse, coordinated the collection alongside doctors, nurses, and volunteers from Shivsahyadri Pratishthan. The medical staff conducted preliminary examinations and adhered to safety protocols throughout the collection process.

Representatives of Shivsahyadri Pratishthan expressed satisfaction with the community response and urged citizens to continue supporting voluntary donation drives to help maintain regional blood reserves.
