Over 40,000 Attend Military Pipe Band Display at Gateway of India in Mumbai

MUMBAI — A grand Military Pipe Band display featuring 15 JAK LI and the Artillery Centre Band was held in Mumbai, culminating at the iconic Gateway of India and drawing a massive gathering of over 40,000 people to mark 80 years of India's Independence.

Billed as the largest-ever Military Pipe Band display, the event brought together military musical traditions and civilian participation on an unprecedented scale. The event was curated by Colonel Vijay Kumar (Retd) and organised by 15 JAK LI under the aegis of Headquarters Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area.

During the performance, 15 JAK LI and the Artillery Centre Band presented stirring martial tunes and patriotic compositions, creating an atmosphere of national pride. The musical programme was further enriched by performances from singers Gul Saxena, Anil Bajpai, Pranav Deherker, and Sanjay Kumar, whose renditions of patriotic songs captivated and engaged the large audience.

The grand spectacle concluded at the Gateway of India with a visually striking LED display. Illuminated performers and pipe band personnel formed coordinated light formations while martial tunes continued to play, adding a vibrant visual dimension to the finale.

The combined performance by the armed forces personnel and civilian artistes created a memorable celebration of patriotism, connecting members of the Armed Forces with citizens to commemorate eight decades of India's Independence.
