Overturned Truck Near Chunabhatti Triggers Two-Hour Traffic Delay

Traffic movement on the southbound carriageway of Mumbai's Eastern Express Highway was severely affected on Friday morning after a truck overturned near Postal Colony in Chunabhatti. The incident resulted in heavy congestion along the key highway, leading to a slow crawl for motorists during the busy morning commute.

The disruption began early in the morning, prompting the Mumbai Traffic Police to issue an official advisory to commuters at approximately 8:00 AM. In the update, traffic authorities stated that traffic movement was slow at Postal Colony in Chunabhatti on the southbound carriageway due to the overturned truck.

Following the accident, videos from the scene showed a white truck lying on its side along the highway. A crane was subsequently deployed to the spot to lift the overturned vehicle and clear the roadway.

As the recovery work got underway, Mumbai Traffic Police personnel were seen actively managing the vehicular movement on-site. Motorists were forced to crawl past the affected stretch of the highway while emergency recovery teams worked to resolve the bottleneck.

The incident led to slow-moving traffic on the southbound carriageway for nearly two hours. Recovery teams eventually managed to clear the overturned white truck from the highway, allowing the affected stretch to be reopened for smooth vehicular movement. Authorities later confirmed at around 10:00 AM that normal traffic flow had been fully restored.

Fortunately, no injuries to the truck driver or any other person have been officially confirmed so far. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained by the authorities.
