Palghar Police Arrest 3 After 19-Year-Old Woman Gang-Raped Near Talasari

A 19-year-old woman was abducted and gang-raped by six men at an abandoned government rest house under the jurisdiction of the Talasari Police Station in Palghar district. Following the incident, the Palghar police launched a swift investigation and arrested three accused within hours, while actively pursuing the remaining three suspects.

According to reports, the victim had traveled to Umargam in neighboring Gujarat for an outing with a male friend. The incident occurred on their return journey when her friend's motorcycle suffered a breakdown, leaving the pair stranded along the highway roadside.

While the victim and her friend were waiting by the roadside, six men riding on two motorcycles pulled up at the location. The miscreants engaged in a physical scuffle with the victim's male friend and overpowered him before forcibly abducting the young woman.

The attackers took the woman to a nearby abandoned government rest house, also known as a Dak Bungalow. Once at the location, all six men sexually assaulted the victim turn by turn.

Following the ordeal, the victim approached the Talasari Police Station to report the crime and lodge an official complaint. The police immediately registered a case against all six accused men involved in the assault.

Expanding their probe shortly after the case was registered, police officers traced and apprehended three suspects within hours. Active search operations are currently underway to locate and arrest the remaining three absconding accused who are currently on the run.
