Palghar Police Arrest Four for Robbing 72-Year-Old Woman in Wada, Recover Gold Necklace

Palghar Police arrested four persons, including a woman, within two hours of a robbery targeting a 72-year-old woman in Wada, successfully recovering a stolen gold necklace valued at Rs 1.70 lakh.

The incident took place at around 9.30 am on August 24 while the complainant, identified as Bharati Bhaskar Pashte, was travelling from Kelichapada to Kanchad in the Wada area of Palghar district.

Pashte was travelling in the company of three other women when the robbery occurred and her gold necklace was taken.

Following the complaint lodged by the 72-year-old victim, the Wada Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

Police teams initiated swift action upon receiving the report, leading to the interception and arrest of all four suspects within two hours of the crime.

Officers confirmed that the entire stolen gold necklace, valued at Rs 1.70 lakh, was recovered following the apprehension of the four accused.
