Panvel Civic Body Launches Online Single-Window System for Ganeshotsav Pandals
The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has introduced an online single-window system to streamline pandal permissions for public Ganesh mandals ahead of Ganeshotsav. The initiative was announced during a festival planning meeting held at the Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Natyagruha in Panvel.
The meeting was conducted under the guidance of Mayor Nitin Patil and attended by mandal representatives, municipal staff, police officers, and officials from CIDCO and MSEDCL. To facilitate the process, the civic body launched a dedicated website, pandal.maharts.in, appealing to organizers to submit their applications online.
PMC Additional Commissioner Ganesh Shete said the system will eliminate the need for mandal representatives to make multiple visits to municipal offices. After document submission, nodal officers in each ward committee will oversee approvals. The portal allows mandals to obtain no-objection certificates from the local police, traffic police, fire brigade, and the municipal property department. Permissions will be processed through Ward Committees A, B, C, and D, along with the Navade sub-division.
Mayor Patil said the civic body is addressing logistical suggestions raised by mandal representatives, including discussions with local traders to manage festival traffic in Panvel city. The civic administration will also evaluate the feasibility of installing a lift at the immersion ghat near the Koliwada area and arrange an additional raft for idol immersions at Ballaleshwar Lake. The PMC added that road repair machinery has been deployed to fix potholes across key routes ahead of the celebrations.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Mayur Bhujbal instructed large housing societies to secure required permissions for idol arrival and immersion processions. Bhujbal also directed public mandals to install CCTV cameras, assign night volunteers for security, ensure tableaux and decorations are unobjectionable, and adhere to police-approved procession schedules.
