Panvel Municipal Corporation to Host Voter Registration Workshop for Housing Societies

The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has officially scheduled a special workshop for housing society office-bearers and managers in Panvel to address the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls - 2026. The administrative training programme is set to take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, with the venue confirmed as the Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Natyagruha.

This localized civic initiative is being organized in accordance with the directions issued by the Election Commission of India. The primary focus of the upcoming workshop is to build widespread awareness regarding the electoral roll revision campaign among the key administrative figures of residential societies, including presidents, secretaries, office-bearers, and managers who operate within the PMC jurisdiction.

By training these key representatives, the Panvel Municipal Corporation aims to enable them to actively assist local residents throughout the voter registration and voter verification processes. The civic body hopes that having trained personnel within each housing society will make the verification process more accessible for citizens living in these areas.

According to official statements from the civic body, the workshop session will thoroughly explain both the core objectives and the exact procedures of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The PMC expects that this detailed guidance will encourage greater public participation, which is essential for ensuring that the final electoral rolls are fully accurate and updated.

In addition to the housing society representatives, the Panvel Municipal Corporation has invited media representatives to attend and cover the programme. The civic administration highlighted that media coverage of the workshop will play a key role in helping to disseminate information about the voter list revision campaign to the broader public across the region.
