Plaster Falls From 30-Year-Old Building in Mumbra, Structure Declared Dangerous

Plaster collapsed from a 30-year-old residential and commercial building located in front of Eden Park in Tanwernagar, Kausa, Mumbra, on Tuesday afternoon. Following the incident, officials reported that parts of the building developed visible cracks and the remaining structure was left in a dangerous condition.
The incident occurred at around 3:57 pm on August 18, 2026, in the Kausa area of Thane district.
Upon inspection, officials found that plaster had detached from the building, while cracks were observed across several walls and structural columns. The damage raised immediate safety concerns regarding the stability of the entire structure.
According to officials, the building houses 17 residential flats and 14 commercial shops, with approximately 100 people currently living on the premises.
Authorities confirmed that the remaining portion of the structure remains in a precarious state following the plaster collapse.
