Plot Revealed for David Dhawan's 2026 Film Starring Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur

MUMBAI — Production details and the central plot have been revealed for the upcoming Bollywood film *Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai*, which is scheduled to release in 2026. Directed by David Dhawan, the comedy-drama stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in the leading roles.

The movie follows the life of Jaswinder, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan. Jass works as a professional wedding photographer. While working on a wedding for the sister of a woman named Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur, Jass falls in love with her. Bani is charmed by Jass, and the two eventually get married.

The relationship runs into major complications five years later. Bani decides to ask for a divorce because Jass wants to start a family and have a child, while she remains completely against the idea.

The couple's marital dispute goes before a judge, played by Ali Asgar. In an attempt to save the marriage, the judge decides to annul the union after a six-month period, expressing hope that the husband and wife will find a way to reconcile during that time.

Bani, however, remains clear that she wants to separate permanently. Heartbroken by the breakdown of his marriage, Jass decides to leave and shifts his life to London.

While living in London, Jass meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde. The two begin dating, and their relationship progresses smoothly until a sudden turn of events. Bani travels to London and ends up at Jass's place, where she announces that she is pregnant with his child. On that very same day, Preet also informs Jass that she is expecting a baby.

The film's promotional materials currently include 63 photos and eight videos, which feature a track titled "Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go." The project is set to be a major Hindi-language release in 2026.
