PMC Clears Footpath Encroachments in Navde-Taloja Phase II

The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out an anti-encroachment drive in Navde-Taloja Phase II on Monday, clearing footpaths and reclaiming public spaces following repeated complaints from residents.

During the drive, the civic squad removed illegal encroachments along footpaths to make them accessible for pedestrians once again. Civic authorities seized five handcarts, eight weighing scales, and other materials that were occupying road space and causing bottlenecks.

The removal of the encroachments has reopened footpaths for pedestrian movement and is expected to ease the flow of vehicular traffic in the area by clearing road obstructions.

According to the civic body, the action was undertaken in direct response to complaints from local citizens. The initiative is aimed at maintaining encroachment-free public spaces, ensuring unobstructed pedestrian access, and preventing traffic congestion in the neighborhood.

The PMC has issued a warning that enforcement drives will continue against those who illegally occupy public areas and hinder the movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
