Police Probe After Toddler Injured At CIDCO N-1 Preschool In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The police have launched an investigation after a 23-month-old boy was locked unattended inside a classroom and sustained multiple injuries at a preschool in the CIDCO N-1 area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The incident occurred on June 22, 2026, at the FirstCry Intellitots Preschool, leading to a formal police case being registered.

The details of the incident emerged after the child's father, a 29-year-old lawyer, filed a complaint. The father had dropped his son off at the preschool at approximately 10:30 am on the morning of June 22.

According to the official complaint, the situation unfolded at around 11:00 am when a female classroom aide decided to take one student outside the classroom. However, as she left the room, she allegedly locked the classroom door from the outside.

This action left several other toddlers remaining inside the room completely unsupervised. There was no teacher or any other responsible staff member present to monitor the young children.

The complaint states that the toddlers became frightened and started crying after realising that no adult was present in the classroom. With no preschool staff member monitoring them for a period of time, chaos allegedly broke out among the unsupervised children.

During this period of unsupervised chaos, the 23-month-old boy was allegedly repeatedly beaten. As a result of the beating, the toddler sustained multiple physical injuries to his face, nose, lips, chest, and back.

The entire incident was captured on the preschool's CCTV cameras. After viewing the security footage and seeing what had transpired inside the locked classroom, the toddler's parents approached the police to investigate the matter. The police subsequently registered a case and launched their investigation.
