Police trace missing 17-year-old Pune girl to Dadar within 90 minutes of complaint

A 17-year-old girl who went missing from Pune was traced to Dadar in Mumbai and safely rescued within 90 minutes of a complaint being filed on Monday night. The swift operation was made possible through technical investigation and close coordination between the Sangvi Police in Pune and the Bhoiwada Police in Mumbai.

The teenager, who resides in the Katepuram Society in the Sangvi area of Pune, had left her home at approximately 6:30 pm on Monday without informing her family members. According to local police officials, the girl was experiencing mental stress, which prompted her to board an autorickshaw and travel all the way to Mumbai.

When the girl's family realized she was missing about an hour after her departure, they immediately began searching for her. They checked with various relatives and looked around their nearby residential areas. When their initial efforts to locate her failed, they approached the Sangvi Police Station at around 9:30 pm to lodge an official missing person complaint.

Upon receiving the complaint, Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Koli of the Sangvi Police, who was on leave at the time, immediately stepped in to direct the search operation. He instructed police officers to track the girl using technical inputs, specifically focusing on her mobile phone location.

Through this technical investigation, the police team successfully tracked her active location to the Dadar neighborhood of Mumbai. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the Sangvi Police quickly contacted the Bhoiwada Police Station in Mumbai, sharing the girl's location and other crucial details.

Bhoiwada Police officers acted swiftly on the alert, initiating a search in Dadar. They successfully located the teenager and took her into safe custody by 11:00 pm, just an hour and a half after the official complaint was registered in Pune.

A police team from Sangvi subsequently traveled to Mumbai to complete the required legal formalities and safely return the girl to her family. The teenager's family expressed deep gratitude to both the Sangvi and Bhoiwada police teams, stating that their rapid response and coordination ensured her safe return.
