Premature baby found abandoned near Cooper Hospital drain in Vile Parle

On Monday, a premature baby was found abandoned near a drainage line at Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle, prompting local police officers to launch an immediate investigation to trace the parents.
The discovery was made by the hospital staff, who noticed the fetus discarded near the hospital's drainage line. According to the staff members who found the baby, it was wrapped in a blood-stained cloth. Following the discovery, the hospital staff contacted the police to report the incident.
Officers from the Juhu police station rushed to the location of the drainage line upon receiving the call. The police officers recovered the body of the baby and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
According to a police officer from the Juhu police station, the fetus appeared to be approximately seven to eight months old. The officer noted that the baby was intact and its umbilical cord was still attached when it was found.
To establish the identity of the baby and find the person responsible for abandoning the body, investigators are currently scanning CCTV footage. This footage is being collected and reviewed from Juhu, Vile Parle, and various adjoining areas.
In addition to reviewing local surveillance footage, the police are also examining hospital records in the area to find any leads that might help establish the identity of the baby.
Baburao Gawade, the Senior Police Inspector of the Juhu police station, stated that the police have registered a case. He confirmed that the police are actively investigating the matter to trace the baby's parents.
