Rahul Gandhi Urges Maharashtra Congress District Chiefs to Uphold Party Ideology

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday addressed newly appointed district-level party leaders near Nashik, urging them to remain firmly committed to the Congress ideology and work continuously to ensure justice for the people.

Gandhi was speaking at the concluding session of a 10-day residential training programme organised for the newly appointed district Congress presidents near Nashik. During the session, he interacted with the party functionaries for nearly two hours and also took time to meet with their family members.

According to Congress Working Committee member Arif Naseem Khan, Gandhi told the district presidents to stand solidly behind the party's core ideology and actively fight for public justice across their respective jurisdictions.

During the session, Gandhi also demonstrated karate and jujutsu moves to the attendees, speaking to them about the importance of building and maintaining physical and mental strength.

The address formed part of Gandhi's one-day visit to the Nashik region. In addition to addressing the training camp, Gandhi met with senior Maharashtra Congress leaders to review the party's organisational preparedness and also engaged in discussions with tribal students and community representatives.

The training initiative follows a broader organisational restructuring within the Maharashtra Congress, which appointed 69 new district and city presidents in May.

Former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan stated that senior state leaders discussed several current and pressing issues concerning Maharashtra with Gandhi during the visit.

Wednesday's trip was Gandhi's second visit to Maharashtra since August 22, when he participated in the Pune leg of the "Chhatron Ki Goonj" student movement, an initiative that highlighted student-related issues such as examination irregularities, paper leaks, and escalating educational fees.
