Rahul Narwekar Seeks Shivaji Maharaj Slogans in Announcements at Mumbai's CSMT

Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar has urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to include slogans honoring Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in train announcements at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. In a letter submitted to Vaishnaw, Narwekar requested that the slogans 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Ki Jai' and 'Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji' be incorporated into the routine railway announcements made for every train arriving at or departing from the iconic station.

Narwekar personally submitted the letter to the Union Railway Minister during a visit to Delhi. In his formal communication, Narwekar stressed that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus is not merely a historic railway junction, but serves as a symbol of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's ideals of courage, patriotism, and Swarajya.

Pointing out the strategic importance of the station, Narwekar noted that thousands of passengers from all parts of the country travel through the terminus on a daily basis. He stated that this heavy passenger footfall makes the railway station a crucial platform for spreading awareness about the enduring legacy and ideals of Shivaji Maharaj across India.

Narwekar emphasized that the proposed announcements would play a significant role in introducing younger generations to the administrator's bravery, welfare-oriented policies, and commitment to national interest. The Speaker also highlighted Shivaji Maharaj's historical contribution to bringing together people from different sections of society during the establishment of Swarajya.

In his submission, Narwekar formally requested Vaishnaw to consider the proposal positively and issue the necessary directions to the railway administration to implement the two slogans across all arriving and departing train announcements at CSMT. Narwekar expressed confidence that this initiative would help convey the message of Shivaji Maharaj's contributions beyond Maharashtra through the country's extensive railway network.
