Raigad Draft Electoral Roll Leaves 5.84 Lakh Forms Uncollected and 1.98 Lakh Unmapped
Raigad Collector and District Election Officer Kishan Jawale announced at the Collectorate that 5,84,118 enumeration forms could not be collected and 1,98,341 voters remain unmapped across Raigad district during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of electoral rolls.
The draft electoral rolls, published on August 31, recorded a total of 25,33,739 voters across the district's seven Assembly constituencies and 2,747 polling stations. Following digitisation, 19,49,341 voters were identified, while 1,84,263 data anomalies were detected during the exercise.
Among the seven constituencies, Panvel recorded the highest number of voters at 6,84,095, followed by Shrivardhan with 3,62,680 and Uran with 3,57,255. Karjat has 3,19,337 voters, Alibag has 3,09,580, Pen recorded 3,05,343, and Mahad registered 2,95,449 voters.
Speaking alongside Deputy Collector (Election) Nitin Waghmare, Jawale stated that the revision is being conducted across all Assembly seats in Maharashtra as per Election Commission of India guidelines, with October 1, 2026, set as the qualifying date. He urged citizens to verify their details and file claims or objections to ensure an accurate and comprehensive electoral roll.
Citizens and newly eligible voters can submit claims and objections between August 31 and September 30. Form 6 is designated for name inclusions along with supporting documents, Form 8 for corrections to existing entries, and Form 7 for seeking deletions. Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers will hold hearings and dispose of cases between August 31 and October 29. Political parties will receive weekly lists of received claims and objections.
The final electoral rolls are scheduled for publication on November 4. Under Rule 24 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, appeals against registration decisions can be filed before the Raigad Collector within 15 days, with further appeals permitted within 15 days to the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra.
The district administration also cautioned that making false declarations or statements during the process is an offence under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, punishable by up to one year in prison, a fine, or both.
