Raigad Paddy Farmers Urged to Register for MSP Procurement by October 15

Paddy farmers across Raigad district have been urged to complete their online registration at designated paddy procurement centres to avail themselves of the benefits under the government's Minimum Support Price (MSP) procurement scheme.

According to Dr Ravindra Shelke, in-charge district supply officer for Raigad, the registration window for the scheme will remain open from September 1 to October 15, 2026.

Under the MSP procurement initiative, farmers can sell their produce directly to government-authorised procurement centres at an assured price. The arrangement ensures that agricultural producers are not forced to sell their paddy below the government-declared support price.

The initiative is a Central government scheme that has been implemented in Maharashtra under the decentralised procurement system since the 2016-17 season. The state has established dedicated procurement centres for paddy and other coarse grains to ensure growers can benefit from the MSP mechanism.

Farmers intending to sell their paddy to the government under the programme must complete their online registration at a procurement centre before selling their produce.

Officials noted that specific criteria must be met to complete the registration process. Farmers are required to provide a bank account linked to their Aadhaar number. Additionally, applicants must have a Farmer ID generated through the AGRISTACK platform.

Dr Shelke appealed to paddy growers across the district to complete the required formalities within the stipulated registration period and ensure they are officially registered before taking their harvest to the procurement centres.

The district administration has urged farmers not to wait until the final deadline, advising early completion of the registration process to avoid difficulties in availing themselves of the MSP scheme.
