Raj Thackeray Targets Fadnavis Government Over Missing Link Project And Mumbai Floods

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday, July 9, 2026, launched a sharp attack against the Devendra Fadnavis-led state government during a public address at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Memorial Auditorium in Dadar West, Mumbai.

Speaking at the anniversary programme of the Maharashtra Navnirman Railway Karmachari Sena, Thackeray criticized the state administration's handling of major infrastructure projects and local employment. The MNS chief's remarks directly challenged the Devendra Fadnavis-led government's response to criticism over key transit networks.

During his speech, Thackeray accused the state government of being unwilling to accept public criticism regarding the Mumbai-Pune Expressway's Missing Link project. He also raised concerns over the civic administration's management of Mumbai's monsoon infrastructure, pointing to ongoing issues faced by the city during the rainy season.

In addition to infrastructure, the MNS leader focused on employment rights for local residents. He urged party workers to remain actively vigilant to ensure that Marathi youth are given priority and successfully receive jobs in railway recruitments. The call to action was directed specifically at members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Railway Karmachari Sena attending the anniversary event in Dadar West.

Following the event, Thackeray shared a clarification on social media regarding a historical reference he made during his speech. He explained that while discussing World War II and Winston Churchill, he had mistakenly used the phrases "V for Victory" and "V for Winston." He clarified that he had intended to use "V for Invincible" to frame the points in his address.

The anniversary programme brought together workers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Railway Karmachari Sena, highlighting the party's ongoing political focus on local infrastructure quality and job security for Maharashtra's youth.
