Ranveer Singh Addresses Don 3 Exit During Mediation Over Dhurandhar Success

MUMBAI — Actor Ranveer Singh reportedly addressed his exit from the upcoming film *Don 3* during recent mediation proceedings in Mumbai with production house Excel Entertainment. The discussions, which followed Singh's departure from the franchise, highlighted the influence of his other film, *Dhurandhar*, on his decision-making process.
The dispute between Singh and Excel Entertainment, a production company headed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, was triggered after the actor walked away from *Don 3*. During the subsequent mediation sessions, Singh presented a list of specific concerns that led to his exit, including issues related to the film's script, budget, creative process, and his remuneration.
According to reports, a pivotal moment in the mediation occurred when producer Ritesh Sidhwani asked Singh a direct and pointed question. Sidhwani reportedly asked the actor whether he would have still chosen to walk away from *Don 3* if his film *Dhurandhar* had not emerged as a massive success at the box office.
Singh reportedly responded to the producer's question by stating that he would not have.
The exchange, which was first reported by Variety, has sparked significant media speculation and discussions within the film industry regarding Singh's official status and his departure from the upcoming movie.
The financial success of *Dhurandhar* has been a major talking point. Recently, a producer revealed that Singh and director Aditya Dhar took smaller upfront fees for *Dhurandhar* and instead benefited from backend profit-sharing deals after the production costs of that film doubled.
The reports of the mediation exchange emerged on June 2, 2026, amid ongoing discussions about the future of the *Don 3* franchise. Neither Excel Entertainment nor Singh have released further official statements regarding the current status of the dispute or the outcome of the mediation sessions.
