Ratnagiri Records 61 mm Rainfall as IMD Forecasts Wet Weather Across Maharashtra

The coastal town of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra's Konkan region recorded a significant rainfall spell of 61 mm on July 1, 2026, marking the highest precipitation in the state. According to observations released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the heavy spell in Ratnagiri stood out as other parts of the state's coastal belt experienced much lighter rain and varying temperatures.

In Mumbai, weather conditions remained relatively mild. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 28.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 24.6 degrees Celsius. Along with these mild temperatures, the city of Mumbai received only a light shower totaling about 2 mm of rainfall.

Other coastal stations in the Konkan-Goa belt reported even lower rainfall figures. Alibag recorded just 1 mm of rain during the same observation period. In contrast to the wet weather observed in Ratnagiri, Mumbai, and Alibag, the town of Dahanu registered warmer conditions, with the maximum temperature there reaching 35.0 degrees Celsius.

According to the latest meteorological observations from the IMD for Thursday, the state of Maharashtra is expected to witness generally cloudy conditions. Light to moderate rainfall is also anticipated at several places across the state.

In Pune, specifically in the Shivajinagar locality, the weather forecast indicates that skies will remain generally cloudy. The IMD noted that light to moderate rain is very likely to occur in the area. Temperatures in the Shivajinagar area of Pune are expected to hover around a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 23 degrees Celsius.

The IMD observations highlight the regional variations in weather across Maharashtra, ranging from the heavy downpours in Ratnagiri to warmer conditions in Dahanu and light showers in Mumbai and Alibag.
