RoRo Train Derailment on Konkan Railway Delays Mumbai-Bound Services

RoRo Train Derailment on Konkan Railway Delays Mumbai-Bound Services

A derailment involving a RoRo train on the Konkan Railway main line towards Goa led to operational disruptions and delays of up to two hours for several Mumbai-bound express services on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred around 11 pm when the last wagon of the RoRo train derailed along the main line route. The derailment caused a temporary suspension of regular movement along the impacted section.

Railway officials initiated restoration work immediately following the incident to put the derailed wagon back onto the tracks.

Following the re-railing of the wagon, railway teams inspected the affected stretch to ensure track integrity and safety. A Track Fit Certificate was subsequently issued at approximately 1.30 am once the line was declared fit for train operations.

While railway authorities stated that there was no major operational impact from the incident, several services experienced delays ranging between one and two hours. Multiple Mumbai-bound express trains were among the services affected by the disruption before normal operations resumed.
