Sanjay Raut Alleges Crores of Corruption in PCMC School Supply Procurement

On July 9, 2026, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut sent a formal letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, alleging major corruption in the procurement of school uniforms and supplies within Pimpri-Chinchwad. The Member of Parliament claimed that the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) violated established rules by failing to use the mandatory e-tendering system for these purchases.

The allegations center on the procurement of various educational and seasonal supplies intended for students of primary and secondary schools run by the civic body. According to Raut, the irregularities in the procurement process represent corruption worth crores of rupees.

In his letter, Raut stated that local residents and representatives from Pimpri-Chinchwad had brought the issue to his attention after raising concerns over the procurement process. The materials in question include school uniforms, sweaters, socks, raincoats, school bags, and other essential supplies meant for the civic-run school students.

The core of the complaint is that the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation did not utilize the mandatory e-tendering system to award these contracts. Raut asserted that avoiding the electronic tendering process constitutes a direct violation of the rules governing public procurement.

Following these allegations, Raut has demanded that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis initiate an immediate inquiry into the school supply contracts. The MP has also called for strict administrative and legal action against any officials or individuals who are found responsible for the alleged irregularities and corruption in the Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal school procurement.
