Sanjay Raut Calls Uddhav and Raj Thackeray Joint Protest Against ECI a Revolt

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday, October 4, 2026, described a joint protest led by Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray in Mumbai as a "revolt" against what he alleged was the undermining of democratic institutions, electoral processes, and citizens' constitutional rights.
Speaking ahead of the protest march against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Raut accused the Election Commission of India of facilitating what he called the "hijacking" of elections.
Raut further alleged that democratic institutions were actively being weakened through irregularities in the electoral system, prompting the joint action by Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray.
The demonstration marks a coordinated resistance by the political leaders against the central poll body and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the conduct of elections.
