Sanjay Raut Writes to Amit Shah Over Maharashtra Cooperative Banking Decisions

Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, raising serious concerns regarding recent Central government measures affecting Maharashtra's urban cooperative banking sector, including developments in Mumbai.
In the letter dated August 20, 2026, Raut highlighted key issues regarding the passage of the National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026. He also raised objections regarding the inauguration of the National Urban Co-operative Finance Development Corporation (NUCFDC) office in Mumbai.
Raut questioned recent decisions concerning assets linked to the state's urban cooperative banking sector, alleging injustice against the state's institutions.
Copies of the communication were also marked to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar.
