Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Paduka From UK Reach Navi Mumbai for Ashadhi Wari

The holy sandals (Paduka) of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, which were brought from the United Kingdom by dedicated devotees, arrived in Navi Mumbai before proceeding towards Alandi for the annual Pandharpur Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage. This spiritual journey, which represents a significant leg of the traditional pilgrimage, commenced with a grand ceremonial welcome in the Tardeo neighbourhood of Mumbai on July 1, 2026.

During the welcome ceremony in Tardeo, Mumbai, local devotees greeted the arrival of the procession with continuous chants of "Ram Krishna Hari." The gathering of faithful followers created a deeply devotional atmosphere in the locality as people assembled to pay their respects to the sacred Paduka.

Following the initial ceremonies in Mumbai, the Paduka reached Navi Mumbai. On July 2, 2026, the procession set out from Navi Mumbai to continue its journey towards Alandi. Once the procession reaches Alandi, the holy sandals will proceed along the traditional route to Pandharpur. The journey will see them join thousands of other Warkaris who participate in the centuries-old Wari tradition.

Several prominent Warkaris are accompanying the procession as it travels towards Alandi and Pandharpur. The group of notable figures accompanying the Paduka includes Anil Khedkar, Navnath Gaikwad, H.B.P. Sagar Maharaj Borate, Dhanaji Wanve, Gorakshanath Ghadge, Rohidas Katkar, Arun Kakade, and Sandip Jagtap.

Throughout the entire travel route, the procession has echoed with the devotional chants of "Ram Krishna Hari, Jai Hari" as devotees celebrated the arrival of the Paduka. The active involvement of devotees who travelled from the United Kingdom highlights the global appeal of Maharashtra's Bhakti tradition. It also showcases the enduring spiritual significance of the annual Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage to Pandharpur, which continues to draw followers from across the globe.
