School Theek Karo Campaign Seeks BMC Nod for Citizen Audits of Schools

Representatives of Mumbai’s ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign met Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Education Officer Kirtivardhan Kiratkudwe at Triveni Sangam Municipal School in Curry Road on Friday to seek formal permission to conduct citizen audits of municipal schools.
The meeting was convened in response to alleged action taken by the civic administration, amid allegations that citizens participating in school inspections faced threats of FIRs. Campaigners submitted a formal representation letter seeking official clearance to inspect civic schools across the city.
The discussions commenced at approximately 3:20 pm and continued for about an hour. The meeting was attended by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) representative Pranay Ahire, a Mumbai Police official, and citizen activists associated with the campaign.
