SEAL Ashram Marks Independence Day With 425 Residents in Vangani Village

SEAL Ashram in Wangani village marked India's 80th Independence Day with more than 425 residents from over 20 states, hosting a programme focused on inclusion, care and dignity.

The celebrations were attended by Dr Abraham Mathai, former Vice Chairman of the Maharashtra State Minority Commission, who joined the residents and SEAL volunteers for the event.

Sachin Pawar, Assistant Police Inspector (API) of the City Police Station, also attended the programme alongside his team. Pawar sponsored 450 snack boxes for the ashram's residents and approximately 50 children from the local Vangani Anganwadi school.

As part of the day's initiatives, stationery items were distributed to children from the Anganwadi and primary classes in Wangani village.

The ceremony included the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Well-wishers, supporters and friends of the ashram from various walks of life also took part in the gathering.

SEAL Ashram provides shelter, care and rehabilitation to abandoned, destitute, elderly, mentally challenged and homeless individuals. The organisation highlighted that its idea of freedom extends beyond political independence to include freedom from loneliness, neglect, hunger and abandonment.
