Search called off for 17-year-old boy feared drowned at Aksa Beach in Malad West

A 17-year-old boy is feared to have drowned at Aksa Beach in Malad West, Mumbai, on Friday, June 26, 2026, prompting a multi-agency search operation. The incident was reported from the stretch of the beach located between INS Hamla and Shitala Devi Temple.
According to preliminary information, the emergency alert was received at approximately 3:53 PM. Following the alert, the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) launched an active search operation to trace the teenager.
The search operation continued for several hours as rescue teams scanned the waters. However, officials confirmed that the search was called off for the day at 8:19 PM.
The 17-year-old boy remains missing and is feared drowned.
