Seven Treated for Suffocation After Fire at Bandra West Building

Seven people were treated for suffocation after a fire broke out at a ground-plus-seven-storey building on Station Road in Bandra West on Saturday morning.

The blaze erupted at approximately 10:23 am in the multi-storey structure. Emergency response teams were dispatched to the site, where they worked quickly to contain the situation. Firefighters brought the blaze under control and completely extinguished the flames within half an hour, by 10:49 am.

Following the incident, seven residents from the building complained of suffocation caused by smoke inhalation. All seven affected individuals were taken for medical care and received treatment on an outpatient (OPD) basis. Authorities confirmed that all of them are currently in stable condition.

The injured residents were identified as Gajala Javed Shaikh, 47, Javed Dildar Shaikh, 48, Tahera Ismail Shaikh, 28, Mohimuddin Javed Shaikh, 8, Ismail Akhinuddin Shaikh, 38, Mariha Javed Shaikh, 12, and Mehnoor Javed Shaikh, 20.

No further casualties were reported from the scene.
