Sheetal Mhatre Rescues King Cobra at Mumbai Office, Releases It in Mangroves

A King Cobra was found on Monday at the office of Mumbai Congress spokesperson Sheetal Mhatre, prompting her to seek urgent assistance from the Maharashtra Forest Department before safely relocating the snake herself.

Following the discovery, Mhatre safely caught the snake and placed it inside a glass container. She then posted a video of the incident on X (formerly Twitter), tagging the Maharashtra Forest Department and requesting an authorised rescue team or personnel to collect and relocate the reptile.

However, after waiting for hours without receiving a response from forest officials, Mhatre took the snake to a nearby natural habitat and released it into a mangrove forest.

Sharing an update on social media, Mhatre wrote, “The said Cobra has been safely relocated to its natural habitat in the mangrove forest since no response from the officials.”

Video footage showed Mhatre carefully releasing the snake into the forest, where it quickly disappeared into its natural surroundings.
