Shiv Sena UBT accuses Centre of shielding incompetent ministers amid youth protests

MUMBAI — Shiv Sena (UBT) on Tuesday, 21 July, 2026, criticized the Central government in an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana, accusing the administration of shielding incompetent ministers and suppressing nationwide youth protests.
In the editorial published in Mumbai, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party framed the ongoing protests across India as the beginning of a revolution. The party alleged that the government is attempting to repress public dissent and growing anger through police action instead of addressing the concerns of the citizens.
According to the editorial, the Central government has chosen to protect its ministers rather than engage with the protesting youth. The Shiv Sena (UBT) highlighted the use of police force against protesters, calling it an attempt to suppress the voices of dissent across the country.
