Shiv Sena (UBT) Alleges Voter Roll Manipulation Ahead of Maharashtra Polls

The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of using electoral rolls as a political weapon to manipulate upcoming elections across Maharashtra.

In an editorial published in its mouthpiece Saamana, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party alleged systematic manipulation of voter rolls. The allegations follow reports indicating that more than two crore voter names are being excluded across Maharashtra under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

Through the editorial, the party raised serious concerns over the voter revision process and urged opposition parties to unite against the alleged manipulation of the electoral lists ahead of the state polls.
