Shiv Sena UBT Sacks Krushna Patil Ashtikar Over Anti Party Activities

In Mumbai, the Shiv Sena (UBT) on Monday, 22 June, 2026, expelled Krushna Patil Ashtikar, the son of rebel Member of Parliament Nagesh Patil Ashtikar, for alleged anti-party activities. The decision was announced by party leader Sanjay Raut as the political organization faces a deepening crisis and increasing political uncertainty across Maharashtra.

Krushna Patil Ashtikar had recently served as the Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate from the Nanded local bodies constituency during the Maharashtra legislative council elections, which were held last week. His sudden expulsion highlights the escalating internal friction within the party leadership.

The disciplinary action against the candidate comes amid a broader rebellion within the party's ranks. Currently, the Shiv Sena (UBT) is battling a rebellion led by six of its Lok Sabha MPs, a group that includes the candidate's father, Nagesh Patil Ashtikar.

Party leader Sanjay Raut confirmed the development, stating that the action was taken in response to "anti-party activities" committed by Krushna Patil Ashtikar. The move is seen as an attempt by the party leadership to crack down on dissent and handle the fresh wave of defections.

The ongoing crisis has created significant political uncertainty for the Shiv Sena (UBT) in Maharashtra, as the leadership struggles to maintain unity among its elected representatives and party members following the recent legislative council polls.
