Shiv Sena UBT slams BJP over silence on Ayodhya Ram Temple and NEET paper leak

Shiv Sena UBT slams BJP over silence on Ayodhya Ram Temple and NEET paper leak

The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Saturday, June 27, 2026, launched a sharp criticism against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Hindu organization Sakal Hindu Samaj in Mumbai. The political party accused both entities of maintaining silence over alleged financial irregularities at the Ayodhya Ram Temple as well as the NEET-UG paper leak case.

This criticism was detailed in an editorial published in Saamana, the official mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena (UBT). The editorial raised questions about why organizations that are typically highly active in mobilizing public protests on various Hindutva-related issues have chosen not to speak out on these recent controversies.

Specifically, the party pointed out that the Sakal Hindu Samaj and the BJP frequently organize campaigns and protests concerning issues such as religious conversions, cow slaughter, and "Love Jihad." However, the Shiv Sena (UBT) highlighted a stark contrast in their response to the alleged financial irregularities involving donations and valuables at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, where criminal cases have already been registered.

According to the Saamana editorial, the silence from these right-wing organizations and the BJP is particularly notable because the alleged irregularities involve individuals who are linked to their own ideological camp. The party questioned the lack of public protests from these groups regarding both the temple donations and the nationwide NEET-UG paper leak case.

The editorial, representing the stance of the Uddhav Thackeray-led party, aims to highlight what it views as selective outrage and hypocrisy by the BJP and its allied organizations. By pointing out the silence on the Ayodhya temple irregularities and the student exam leak, the Shiv Sena (UBT) sought to challenge the credibility of their political and ideological rivals on key issues of governance and religious integrity.
