Sion Police Deploy Over 100 Personnel for Independence Day Combing Operation

Ahead of Independence Day celebrations, the Sion Police carried out an extensive combing and search operation involving more than 100 personnel across the Sion area in Mumbai to step up vigilance and prevent untoward incidents.

The large-scale security exercise was conducted across the jurisdiction of the Sion police station under the guidance of Sion Division Assistant Commissioner of Police Mahendra More and was led directly on the ground by Sion Police Station Senior Police Inspector Sarita Tawde.

During the drive, a contingent of over 100 police officers and personnel combed through local streets and thoroughfares. The teams inspected suspicious vehicles parked along roadsides and carried out focused checks and physical searches on people and moving vehicles deemed suspicious.

According to the police, the comprehensive operation was undertaken to identify any suspicious activity, maintain law and order, and ensure that the locality remains completely secure throughout the Independence Day events.
