Six Booked for Dangerous Stunts and Graffiti on Bhayandar Railway Bridge

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has traced and booked six people, including a 16-year-old boy, for allegedly performing dangerous stunts and painting graffiti on and around the Bhayandar railway bridge without permission.

Five adult members of the group were produced before the Railway Court at Vasai Road on Monday and ordered to pay a fine of Rs 2,000 each, alongside undergoing a one-day Till Rising of Court (TRC) punishment. The 16-year-old was handed over to his father and directed to appear before the Juvenile Justice Board in Bhiwandi on September 4.

RPF officials initiated action after videos showing the group's activities circulated widely on social media. According to investigators, the group entered restricted railway zones on August 9, hung beneath the bridge structure to do pull-ups, and painted graffiti near Bhayandar creek. A case was subsequently registered under Sections 147 and 145 of the Railways Act.

Investigators first tracked down a 29-year-old accountant and graffiti artist using the registration number of a scooter seen in an older Instagram video. He was summoned to the RPF office on August 31. Following his statement, another suspect was identified, leading to four additional group members presenting themselves to the RPF on September 1.

During questioning, all six individuals admitted to entering the restricted railway premises and carrying out the stunts without authorization. The RPF stated that the accused individuals have also released apology videos addressing their actions.
