Slab Collapse In Andheri East Injures One Amid Heavy Tuesday Rains

A slab collapse at a residential building in Andheri East injured one person on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, as heavy monsoon rains continued to lash Mumbai. The incident was one of two separate building mishaps reported across the city on Tuesday, prompting emergency responses from civic authorities.
According to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), a portion of a slab fell from a residential structure in Andheri East. The collapse resulted in an injury to one individual. The victim was taken for medical care, where they were treated and later discharged by medical professionals.
The incident occurred against the backdrop of continuous rainfall, with Mumbai witnessing heavy showers over the past couple of days. The BMC's daily monsoon report highlighted several rain-related incidents across the city. In addition to the two building mishaps, the civic body responded to 38 separate complaints of tree falls and multiple incidents of short circuits.
Despite the heavy rainfall and the various monsoon-related incidents on Tuesday, key transit networks in the city managed to avoid major disruptions. The BMC confirmed that both road traffic and suburban railway services remained normal, allowing commuters to travel without major delays despite the active weather conditions.
