Smoke from Brake Binding on Koyna Express Sparks Panic at Karjat

Panic broke out among passengers aboard the Koyna Express at Karjat on Saturday evening after heavy smoke was seen billowing from the train due to a brake-binding issue. The sudden smoke caused alarm inside the coaches, prompting several passengers to jump out onto the platform.

According to officials, the train was detained at Karjat in Maharashtra for approximately 10 minutes while the brake-binding problem was addressed. Video footage from the incident showed heavy smoke rising from the train as commuters evacuated the coach in haste.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident. Railway personnel attended to the rake to resolve the mechanical issue before allowing the train to continue its journey.
