Snapchat messages surface in Ketan Agarwal murder case at Lohagad Fort

Lonavla rural police have recovered Snapchat messages from the mobile phone of Siya Goyal, the prime accused in the suspected murder of Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort in Lonavla. The messages, which date back to May, purportedly refer to a wedding "that would never happen" and have been recorded as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
The Snapchat conversation took place between Goyal and an unnamed female friend before the death of Agarwal. In the messages, Goyal allegedly asked her friend to send images of both sides of an Aadhaar card to facilitate booking wedding tickets. She then allegedly remarked that the booking was for a wedding "that would never happen."
Senior Police Inspector Dinesh Tayade of the Lonavla rural police station confirmed the recovery of the messages. According to Tayade, the conversation was retrieved from Goyal’s earlier mobile phone, which she was using to chat with her friend in May. The police now plan to probe the friend who participated in the chat as part of their active investigation.
The murder investigation began after Ketan Agarwal died on June 18. Agarwal fell to his death from Lohagad Fort, a historical site in Lonavla. Police suspect that Goyal and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, pushed Agarwal into the gorge.
In a separate development, a video showing Goyal inside a police vehicle recently went viral on social media, with several users alleging that she made an obscene gesture. Her father, Praveen Goyal, dismissed the allegations, claiming that the door of the police vehicle had accidentally slammed on her hand, injuring one of her fingers.
According to Praveen Goyal, the gesture had no connection whatsoever with any obscene act or intention. He stated that she was merely showing her injured finger, and suggested that the public could cross-check this detail with the concerned police authority.
