South Mumbai Mantralaya Annexe Power Outage Leaves Employees Waiting Outside

A power outage at the Mantralaya Annexe building in South Mumbai on Wednesday morning disrupted the start of the workday, leaving employees waiting outside. The electricity supply was turned off starting around 7:00 AM, causing several areas inside the building to remain dark.
Employees who arrived to report for duty on Wednesday morning were unable to enter the building. Because the lack of lighting made it difficult to allow entry into the building safely, authorities asked the employees to wait outside. This situation delayed the start of the workday and also disrupted normal movement inside the Annexe during the morning hours.
According to an official from the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), the power disruption was the result of a planned shutdown. The Mantralaya authorities had requested this shutdown to facilitate maintenance work that was carried out overnight.
The BEST official explained that the electricity supply was disconnected for a specific period to ensure that the overnight maintenance work could be completed safely. The official also noted that the shutdown was implemented immediately upon the request of the Mantralaya authorities.
