Speedbreaker Removed on Dr Anand Rao Nair Marg After Ganesh Idol Topples

A speedbreaker located on Dr Anand Rao Nair Marg was removed on Sunday, following an incident where the Bhuleshwarcha Raja Ganesh idol toppled while being transported through the route on late Saturday evening.

The mishap took place during the idol's aagman (arrival) procession as it was being brought from a workshop at Bakri Adda in Byculla West to the Bhuleshwar area.

According to a member of the Brihanmumbai Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Samanvay Samiti (BSGSS), the arrival procession had departed from the workshop at around 2 pm on Saturday. The journey encountered major delays along the route.

The BSGSS member stated that the procession was stalled for approximately two hours specifically due to the presence of the speedbreaker along its path prior to the idol toppling.

Following the incident, the road obstacle on Dr Anand Rao Nair Marg was taken down on Sunday to clear the route.
