SpiceJet Warns of Flight Delays at Mumbai Airport Due to Heavy Rain

Heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions in Mumbai prompted SpiceJet to issue a travel advisory on Tuesday, warning passengers that flight operations at Mumbai airport could face disruptions.

The airline advised travelers that arrivals, departures, and consequential flights operating through the city's airport might be affected by the bad weather.

In a post on social media platform X, SpiceJet stated, "#WeatherUpdate : Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Mumbai (BOM), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected."

In light of the potential disruptions, passengers were advised to keep checking their flight status before traveling to the airport.

Mumbai has witnessed spells of heavy rainfall in recent weeks, with downpours repeatedly disrupting air traffic at the airport. Earlier, heavy rain and poor weather conditions led to multiple flight diversions and delays, including flights being diverted away from Mumbai.

The city's monsoon spells have also caused waterlogging and disrupted road and other transport services, with the India Meteorological Department issuing rain alerts during periods of intense rainfall.

With weather conditions potentially affecting flight operations further, passengers have been advised to check their individual flight status with the airline before leaving for Mumbai airport.
