SRPF Constable Kaustabh Sangle Dies by Suicide at Lok Bhavan in Malabar Hill

A Maharashtra State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) constable allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself at a guard point inside Lok Bhavan in the Malabar Hill area of Mumbai on Tuesday.

The deceased officer has been identified as Police Constable Kaustabh Sangle, who was a Kolhapur SRPF jawan deployed on duty at the location.

The incident was reported to the local authorities at approximately nine o'clock in the morning. Upon receiving the information, the Malabar Hill Police Station quickly dispatched a team of police personnel to the guard point inside the Lok Bhavan premises.

Upon their arrival at the spot, the police personnel recovered the body of Constable Sangle. The body was then sent for a post-mortem examination.

Speaking to reporters about the incident on Tuesday, Mumbai Zone 2 Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) R Ragsudha provided details on the ongoing investigation. DCP Ragsudha confirmed that the police team recovered a suicide note from the scene of the incident.

Based on the initial findings, DCP Ragsudha stated that, prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide. The Malabar Hill Police have initiated an official investigation into the constable's death as they look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
