SRPF to Build Sports Complex at Goregaon East Ground After Drainage Upgrade

The Maharashtra State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) has announced plans to build a world-class sports complex at its ground in Goregaon East, Mumbai. The announcement, made in June 2026, comes after a successful major drainage upgrade finally resolved long-standing flooding and waterlogging issues at the site.

For years, the SRPF ground in Goregaon East had struggled with severe waterlogging during every monsoon season, which rendered the area largely unusable during heavy rains. To address this persistent problem, a major drainage upgrade was recently carried out on the property.

Following the completion of the drainage project, the ground has remained entirely flood-free during the current monsoon season. The success of this infrastructure upgrade has now paved the way for the SRPF to utilize the space for a massive new development.

The SRPF has unveiled plans to transform its 120-acre campus by constructing a world-class sports complex on the site. This new facility will not be restricted to police training or official use. Instead, the SRPF has confirmed that the sports complex will be open to police personnel, their families, and members of the general public.

With the successful drainage upgrade preventing any further waterlogging issues, the development of the 120-acre Goregaon East campus is set to provide a major new recreational and athletic space for both the police force and the local community.
