Stranded Pilgrims From Thane and Dombivli Depart Tibet for Kathmandu

Thirty-seven pilgrims from Maharashtra, including residents of Thane and Dombivli, who were stranded in Saga, Tibet, have safely departed for Kathmandu, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Friday.

The group had completed the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and was on its return journey when severe flood conditions in Nepal led to their being stranded in Tibet. The travellers have now begun their journey towards Kathmandu via the Nyalm Check Post route.

Along with individuals from Thane and Dombivli, the stranded group comprises pilgrims from Pune, Alibag, and Raigad.

Upon learning about the situation faced by the pilgrims, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis contacted the Ministry of External Affairs to request the required assistance to facilitate their safe passage from Saga to Kathmandu.

The Chief Minister’s Office confirmed that the group had safely started its journey towards Kathmandu and shared a list containing the names and details of all 37 pilgrims.
