Stray Dog Attacks Nearly 130 People in Seven Hours in Kalyan West

Nearly 130 people were attacked and bitten by a stray dog within a seven-hour span in Kalyan West, Thane district, leaving 25 victims hospitalised and an 11-year-old girl seriously injured. Civic health officials confirmed the incident, reporting that the spree of attacks began around 2 pm on Sunday near the Sandeep Hotel area.

According to eyewitnesses and Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) health officials, the dog repeatedly attacked people from behind as they walked along roads and narrow lanes in the locality.

During the seven-hour period, the animal targeted pedestrians, people riding on two-wheelers, and passengers traveling in auto-rickshaws.

Following the series of attacks across the area, civic health officials described the stray animal as rabid. Out of the nearly 130 people attacked, 25 required hospitalisation for their injuries, including the 11-year-old girl who was severely hurt.
